World Adult Wind Orchestra Project

World Adult Wind Orchestra Project (WAWOP) will host accomplished wind band musicians from around the world during WAWOP 2018 in Schladming for a challenging, social, and enriching week of music making.
The WAWOP is designed for musicians ages 30 and up (no upper limit) and open by application. Band directors, music teachers, community band members, and music lovers who want to play at the highest level with well-known conductors and composers are encouraged to apply. WAWOP runs concurrently with the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project for musicians age 18-29. We offer an inspiring week of music and opportunities to enjoy the Mid Europe Music Festival, the Austrian Alps, and local culture.

How to apply:
STEP 1: COMPLETE the application form by DECEMBER 1, 2017

STEP 2: Applications will be processed and emails sent regarding your application status by DECEMBER 8, 2017. Apply now and encourage others.
Be aware: if we do not receive sufficient applications to fill out a full ensemble by December 1, 2017 WAWOP 2018 is subject to cancellation.
STEP 3: Once you are notified of acceptance (by December 8, 2017), confirm your participation and book your WAWOP package by DECEMBER 22, 2017. You have the opportunity to bring significant others, families, etc. along. Please see package information document for details.
WAWOP Package Fee: includes room and meals for the week; Mid Europe 2018 Registration – including all concerts, the exhibition, and a program book; WAWOP group excursions; and other expenses for WAWOP. 2018 fee range is EUR 861,00 to EUR 1.231 based on your accommodation selection. (WYWOP fees are lower due to student subsidy and hostel accommodation.)
STEP 4: Payment in full is due JANUARY 31, 2018 Payment details and instruction will follow from the Schladming Tourism office. (Austrian cancellation/refund terms are shown at end of document.)
STEP 5: Arrive in Schladming on JULY 8, 2018 before 5pm and be part of an incredible experience.

WAWOP SCHEDULE OVERVIEW
- July 8, 2018 – check in at the hotel by 5pm. First meeting at 5:15pm followed by dinner and sectionals.
- July 9 – July 12, 2018 – daily rehearsals, sectionals, and sight-seeing opportunities
- July 12, 2018 – outdoor performance as part of the LANGE NACHT – “LONG NIGHT”
- July 13, 2018 – more rehearsals and sight-seeing
- July 14, 2018 – dress rehearsal and performance as part of the Mid Europe festival in the congress Schladming
- July 15, 2018 – departure and checking out after breakfast
